The end of the consumer carbon tax in April drove inflation down for the month, according to Statistics Canada. The national inflation rate was 1.7 per cent in April, down from 2.3 per cent in March. All the Atlantic provinces saw a drop in inflation, with Nova Scotia’s rate sitting at 1.3 per cent down a full percentage point from March.
