Changes are coming to speed up environmental reviews in Nova Scotia. According to the environment minister, this new streamlined approach will help transform Nova Scotia into a clean energy leader while maintaining high environmental standards. Some of the changes include moving some projects to the quicker Class 1 assessment process, a new website with easy-to-understand information to help Nova Scotians better understand the process and how to participate in it and the consultation period for the public and the Mi'kmaq under Class 1 has been extended by 10 days for a total of 40 days under the 50-day long review process.
