Chester Water Conservation and Feeding Deer Issues

Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 8:16 AM

District of Chester Councillor Tom Bremmer has updated residents on water conservation and feeding deer. Bremmer says both issues were discussed at a council meeting earlier this month. He says councillors understand the communities frustration with voluntary water conservation and deer in neighbourhoods. He says there are no quick fixes and any solutions will need to be realistic, both economically and in expectation. He reminds residents not to feed deer as it encourages them to stay, but in the meantime staff will reach out to the province for deer management methods. As for water, Bremmer says research into municipal-wide water sources and availability is ongoing. If you are aware of a high-volume well that may be viable for municipal use, call the Chester Municipal Public Works Department
