Workplace Deaths in Nova Scotia

Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:55 AM

Twenty people lost their lives in work-related deaths last year compared to 18 in 2023. The Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia says the tragic number serves as a stark reminder of the importance of proper safety measures on the job and the toll workplace deaths have on families and loved ones. Eight workers died from traumatic injuries, six deaths were related to occupational diseases and six were from a health-related event like a heart attack that happened at work.
