A rapidly spreading forest fire is being fought in the area of Susie Lake. According to officials, a coordinated multi-agency response is in progress. The fire's progression is outpacing containment efforts, with potential threats to roadways, propane tanks, and commercial properties. The public is requested to avoid the Bayers Lake area. Evacuations and road closures are currently in progress. Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is overseeing the evacuation of commercial buildings on Dugger McNeil Drive. A DNR helicopter and four planes from New Brunswick are en route to assist. Reducing traffic congestion will facilitate emergency response efforts and ensure the safe evacuation of residents and businesses.
