Today is Wear Red Canada Day in the District of Lunenburg. The day is meant to raise awareness of heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of women worldwide and the leading cause of premature death for Canadian women. Wear Red Canada Day is celebrated to raise awareness for all Canadians to pay attention to heart health. Mayor McLean-Wile made the declaration earlier this week.
