Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate is up. Statistics Canada says it increased 1.1 per cent in April to 7.2 per cent. The jobless rate in Canada also increased 0.2 percentage points to 6.9 per cent. The economy added 7,400 jobs but shed 39,000. Manufacturing saw the biggest loss with 31,000 jobs cut as the tariff war with the U.S. continues to cause uncertainty.
