Lunenburg RCMP has charged two men for weapons and property offences. On Thursday of last week, RCMP officers were investigating a report of an abandoned vehicle on Mill Lake Road in Hubbards. Officers determined that the vehicle, a grey Honda Civic, had been reported stolen. While officers were on scene, a second vehicle approached. Two men fled a black Hyundai Elantra, on foot. Officers arrested one of the men immediately. More resources were called in and the second man was found about an hour later and was arrested. Officers determined the Hyundai Elantra was stolen. During a search of the Elantra, investigators located and seized a firearm inside the car. The firearm was also found to have been reported stolen. One man from Ontrio and another from B.C. are both charged with multiple offences. They remain in custody pending future court appearances.
