A text message scam is making its way to phones in Bridgewater. Both the town and the Bridgewater Police Service say some residents have been getting text messages that they owe money for an unpaid parking ticket or passes. The message asks the person to pay the outstanding amount. The Town of Bridgewater does not collect money this way, nor does the town or police service send text messages. Police advise that if you get one of these messages, , do not click on any links or respond to the message. Mark it as spam, delete the message, and block the phone number that the message came from.
