Overnight, RCMP conducted a police operation in Lunenburg County.
Officers were active in the 1000 block of Woodstock Road in Clearland.
Residents were asked to avoid picking up hitchhikers and to report any suspicious individuals on the roads or near their properties.
RCMP issued the alert around 1:30 a.m. and cleared the area roughly an hour later.
