The province is planning to build affordable public housing for 600 people. It’s the first major investment the provincial government has made in public housing in three decades. Development Minister Colton LeBlanc says the construction of 242 public housing units will cost $136 million. In the past 18 months he says there are 515 new public housing units, planned, under construction or finished across the province. They are being built in communities where demand is high.
