The country’s population continues to grow. Statistics Canada says in the first three months of the year, the population grew by 20,000 people. That brings the population to 41 million 550 thousand. This is the sixth quarter in a row that the growth has slowed since the federal government lowered temporary and permanent immigration. There were 5,600 more deaths than births, making immigration the leading factor for the increase.
