Charges against a man who said he was a police officer have been dropped. The Queen’s County man showed up at the Cookville RCMP Detachment on Boxing Day claiming to be a sergeant who was transferring from Alberta. Officers at the scene could not find any record of him in the database and the man said he did not have any I.D. on him. The charge laid against him of personating a peace officer was dropped in Bridgewater court last week when the Crown determined it did not have enough evidence to prove the man was not a police officer.
