The Town of Lunenburg is holding a public hearing before the start of its June 24th council meeting. It’s to discuss the sale of the Old CN Train Station to the Second Storey Women’s Centre. At its meeting in May council decided the Dufferin Street building is no longer needed for town use. Second Storey has expressed interest in buying the property to enhance its operations. The appraised value of the property is $464,000 but the property is considered for sale below market value in recognition of the community benefit provided by the Centre. Written comments are welcome in advance of there will be a sign up sheet for in person presentation sprior to the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
