Nova Scotia is one of the nine provinces that signed off on a direct-to-consumer agreement to allow producers to sell their wine, beer and spirits in other provinces. Now producers will be able to sell to consumers in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Atlantic provinces, and consumers will be able to buy beverages from the other provinces. Premier Tim Houston says the Trump administration has thrown global trade into chaos: “We refuse to let Nova Scotians pay the price for Washington’s politics.” Quebec and Yukon support the agreement and expect to sign on at a later date. The agreement is expected to be in place by February 2027.
