The Wile Carding Mill Museum in Bridgewater will close. The Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage says Nova Scotia has more provincial museum sites than any other province. With 28 sites and more than 240 buildings, the system has grown complex and increasingly difficult to maintain. The statement from the Department says at the dozen sites slated to close attendance is low with some only drawing 1,000 visitors a year. During the process local communities will be consulted with to explore options for future use of the buildings.
