The Mahone Bay Medical Clinic is temporarily closed as officials deal with a mercury spill. The damage was caused by the removal of old medical equipment containing mercury last week, according to the Nova Scotia Health Authority. No one was injured. Clean-up efforts continue and it is expected a decision on when the clinic can reopen will be made in a week. In-person appointments are being relocated to clinics in Lunenburg and Bridgewater.
