Nova Scotia’s long-term care workers are planning to strike on Monday. CUPE Local 1635 announced on a social media post that workers will walk off the job at 7:00 a.m. April 13th. The post adds that it is not something they want to do, but say they are the lowest paid in Canada. Talks between the union and province broke down in late March. Key sticking points are wages, recruitment, and retention.
