The province is cracking down on illegal cannabis operations. Nova Scotia’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice has directed all police agencies to intensify enforcement to stop illegal cannabis shops. The police will also have to report back to the Justice Department. Cannabis is legal in Canada, but only when sold through a regulated system and only at the NSLC in Nova Scotia. A recent provincial review found at least 118 illegal outlets operating across Nova Scotia, compared with 51 legal NSLC cannabis stores.
