The Town of Bridgewater announced the passing of a long-time councillor and mayor. Henry “Harry” St Clair Cook passed away on Saturday. Harry, as everyone called him, was born in Bridgewater on March 12th, 1929. He joined the West Nova Scotia Regiment and attained the rank of Sergeant. Harry was elected to Bridgewater Town Council in 1973 and, in 1976, was elected mayor and served in this position until 1988. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Sweeny’s Funeral Home in Bridgewater. A service of Celebration will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Bridgewater United Church.
