Federal Fisheries Minister Joanne Thompson was in Port Mouton touting the federal government’s commitment of $957.8 million into small craft harbours. The money was already announced in April during the Spring Economic Update. Thompson was joined by South Shore-St. Margaret’s MP Jessica Fancy-Landry. The Central Port Mouton Small Craft Harbour will receive funding to allow for the reconstruction of floating dock system 802 and the options analysis for breakwater 302. The harbour is home to 54 vessels, and the main fishery is lobster.
