Canadians will be headed to the ballot box on April 28th to elect-or re-elect a new federal government. Liberal leader Mark Carney triggered the election by asking the Governor general to dissolve parliament. Campaigning began immediately with Carney touting himself as a problem-solver and says the election is necessary for a strong response to U.S. tariff and sovereignty threats.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre blamed the Liberals for the cost-of-living crisis and referred to former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s leadership as the lost Liberal decade.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will begin his campaign in Ottawa Monday.
