For the first time in history a woman will lead the province’s Liberal party. Lunenburg West MLA Becky Druhan and Amanda Mombourquette have been approved as the two candidates for the party’s top job. Druhan, was elected as a Progressive Conservative in 2021, but left the party in May and joined the Liberals. Mombourquette is the deputy warden of Richmond County Council. The new Liberal leader will be elected on November 21st.
