A fishing vessel capsized near Halifax on Thursday night, leaving one person missing while three others were brought to shore. The vessel involved is the 18-metre Fortune Pride.
According to the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Halifax, an emergency beacon was activated around 10 p.m., approximately 18 kilometres southeast of Sambro.
Rescue efforts included two coast guard vessels—the CCGS Hare Bay and CCGS Sir William Alexander—along with a Cormorant helicopter and a Hercules fixed-wing aircraft. The CCGS Hare Bay recovered three individuals—two conscious and one unconscious—who were transported to the hospital.
The Fortune Pride is owned by Chester Basin Seafoods.
