The Department of Emergency Management is reminding Nova Scotians that fireworks and burn bans don’t mix. Fireworks are strictly forbidden when a burn ban is in place. The Minister of Emergency Management says to take a minute before using fireworks to check local burn restrictions. The restriction applies to all consumer fireworks sold at stores, as well as display fireworks and pyrotechnic special effects used for larger public events and performances.
