It appeared to many pundits U.S. President-elect Donald Trump was trolling outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on social media. But yesterday, Trump doubled down on his posts about making Canada America’s 51st state. In a media conference, Trump said he would use “economic force” to force the annexation of Canada. Trump has previously threatened 25 per cent tariffs against Canadian and Mexican imports when he takes office later this month if the two nations do not tighten border security. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said “there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell” Canada would become part of the US and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh told Trump “to cut the crap.” Trudeau will meet with the country's premiers next week.
