Affordable housing, seniors care and free birth control were the main areas of focus for the three party leaders. Liberal Leader Zach Churchill promised to double the senior’s care grant to $1,500 dollars and increase eligibility for the grant to $50,000. Claudia Chender says if the NDP is elected birth control would be free and surgical abortion and midwifery services would be expanded. PC Leader Tim Houston promised if his party is re-elected surplus land would be sold to participating municipalities for a Loonie which they could then use to build affordable housing. Meanwhile, a new poll by Narrative Research suggests the incumbent PC party has the lead to win another majority government in Tuesday’s election. But the firm says second place is too close to call. The poll was done from November 4th to 17th with 576 residents surveyed.
