The mayor of Bridgewater says he hopes to find the best path forward to deliver policing to all Nova Scotians. David Mitchell’s comments come after Nova Scotia Minister of Justice and Attorney General Becky Druhan announced the province wants to use the RCMP as a provincial police force. She said municipalities will be allowed to keep their police services if they can access specialized teams like underwater search and rescue or emergency response teams.
Mitchell says he has already talked to the Minister twice and he says he’s sure there will be many more meetings in the coming weeks.
