The province plans to sell off the remaining American liquor to benefit Feed Nova Scotia and other community food organizations. Premier Tim Houston says the province will not be buying more liquor from the United States, as Nova Scotia remains committed to a Team Canada approach to tariffs and trade. However, Houston says Nova Scotians have already paid for the alcohol, and the government does not want to see it go to waste. The $14 million in inventory, consisting mainly of wine and spirits, will be back on NSLC shelves on Monday. The NSLC estimates $4 million will go to organizations that support people in need.
