A Nova Scotia MP plans to run to replace Justin Trudeau. Jaime Battiste was elected in 2019 as the first Mik’Maw elected to Parliament. Battiste will campaign on restarting First Nations child welfare talks, ending carbon tax increases, affordable housing, childcare and healthcare. Battiste has raised about 40 thousand dollars of the 350 thousand required to enter the race.
