The federal and provincial governments have renewed their agreement to continue providing Nova Scotians access to the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline. Since launching in 2023, trained responders have answered close to 12,000 calls and more than 14,000 texts from Nova Scotians in crisis. 9-8-8, the simple, three-digit code, is funded by Public Health Canada and is available around the clock, free of charge.
