Lunenburg Town Council has endorsed a review of the National Historic Site designation for Old Town Lunenburg. The review will study whether the current designation and commemorative plaque reflects a full and inclusive picture of the community’s history. The Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada (HSMBC) and Parks Canada are reviewing how Old Town Lunenburg is recognized as a National Historic Site. The results from this review may help shape future heritage work and how the Town shares its history.
