The second and final reading of the Town of Bridgewater’s Noise By-Law is set to take place tomorrow evening. Residents are welcome to provide feedback prior to the vote during the public input session. This updated bylaw is designed to make the Town’s noise rules clearer and easier to enforce. Under the current bylaw, staff often struggle to act on noise complaints, not because they aren’t valid, but because the existing rules are too vague to enforce consistently. The new bylaw tackles interference with indoor conversation, physical vibrations on neighbouring properties, audibility from 100 feet during Quiet Hours and prolonged or repeated noise without reasonable breaks. The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. A signup sheet will be available to anyone who wants to speak.
