Measles in Nova Scotia

Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 8:29 AM

Nova Scotia has its first reported case of measles. The case was found in the Halifax Regional Municipality and involves a person who travelled outside of Canada. They had only one dose of the vaccination. People born between 1970 and 1995 were offered one dose of the vaccine as children and should get a second dose now if they haven’t already. Those born in 1996 or later were offered two doses but should ensure they are fully vaccinated. Public Health also recommends that infants aged six to 11 months receive one dose before travelling outside Canada.
