A manhunt in Lunenburg County came to a peaceful conclusion Tuesday afternoon after RCMP safely arrested a suspect considered armed and dangerous.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., police confirmed they had located and taken Richard MacInnis into custody without incident.
Earlier in the day, RCMP issued an emergency alert warning residents in the Northfield Road area of Lower Northfield to seek immediate shelter and remain indoors.
The alert described MacInnis as a dangerous individual who may have been armed and on foot in the area.
There were no reports of injuries, and police have not yet released details about what led to the alert or charges MacInnis may face.
