The first phase of housing for healthcare workers at the former Wheelhouse Motel has opened. The project is a collaboration between the province and the Housing Trust of Nova Scotia. The province invested $4.1 million in the first phase, which features 13 residential units close to the hospital, long-term care homes and amenities. Three more units will open in the fall, followed by six two-level, two-bedroom modular townhome units slated to begin construction late next summer.
