Dal Strike

Uncertainty looms at Dalhousie University as labour relations reach an impasse. Dalhousie University’s president says unless a tentative agreement is reached with the Dalhousie Faculty Association, the university intends to lock out DFA members at 9:30 Wednesday morning. Contract negotiations with the association that represents 1,000 professors, instructors, librarians and professional counsellors have been going on since May. A final offer was presented to the association last week, and it did not recommend that the offer be accepted by members. In the event of a lockout, the campus will remain open, but classes will be suspended.
